DateMate is a productivity tool built for university and college students. It takes the tedious process of manually entering every lecture, exam, assignment deadline, and class event into your calendar and automates it in seconds.
Every semester, students receive syllabi packed with important dates: lecture schedules, midterm exams, final exams, assignment due dates, group project milestones, reading week breaks, and more. Most students either spend hours manually entering these into their calendar, or worse, they skip it entirely and rely on memory. The result is missed deadlines, forgotten exams, and unnecessary stress.
DateMate uses AI-powered document parsing to read your syllabus and automatically extract every date, deadline, and event. Upload a PDF or HTML syllabus, and within seconds you get a complete list of extracted events — lectures, exams, assignments, and more — organized by type with accurate dates and times. Review everything on a simple checklist, make any edits you need, and sync directly to your Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook with one click.
When you upload a syllabus, DateMate processes the document server-side and sends the text content to an AI model that has been specifically prompted to identify academic events. The AI extracts course names, section numbers, lecture schedules, exam dates, assignment deadlines, and any other calendar-relevant information. It understands complex scheduling patterns like “Week 5: Feb 3 & 5” or “Classes 9-10 | TBL Simulation” and converts them into precise calendar events with correct dates and times.
For courses with multiple lecture sections, DateMate detects them automatically and lets you pick your section so only your specific class times are synced. Shared events like exams and assignment deadlines are included regardless of which section you choose.
DateMate is designed for any student who receives a course syllabus or class schedule in PDF or HTML format. Whether you are a first-year undergraduate managing five courses for the first time, or a graduate student juggling research deadlines alongside coursework, DateMate saves you the time and effort of manual calendar entry. It works with syllabi from any university or college, in any format — as long as the dates are in the document, DateMate can find them.
DateMate was built by a student who got tired of spending the first week of every semester manually typing dates into a calendar. The goal is simple: upload your syllabus, check the events, and get on with your semester. No accounts to configure, no complex setup, no learning curve. Sign in with Google or Microsoft, upload your file, and you are done.
We take your privacy seriously. Uploaded documents are processed in memory and are not permanently stored. We only access your calendar to add events you have explicitly approved. You can read more about our data practices in our Privacy Policy.
